Alice Booth-Zane

Alice was an amazing teacher, friend, Mom, daughter, grandma, sister, aunt and wife. She was loved by many and we all miss her smile and laughter.

Alice’s passion for Pilates and for teaching Pilates was contagious.  She was generous with her knowledge, time and encouragement. She inspired all her students, some of whom, continue their Pilates practice with us at Simply Pilates today. She left us way too soon, but we are grateful for the love, guidance, friendship and grace she so freely gave.

An independent Pilates instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience.  She studied the work of Joseph Pilates with Leah Putnam at Spring Training in Mountain View, CA. She was certified on all apparatus through the PhysicalMind Institute of New York.

Alice focused on using Pilates to help men and women improve their posture, increase their strength, gain flexibility and recover from injury. She held course certifications in Pilates for Chronic Pain, Maximizing Function through Pilates for Neurological Disorders, Restoring the Shoulder Complex after Injury and Breast Cancer and Pilates for Osteoporosis.

Alice was certified in Movement Medicine, a program of study which uses Pilates-based techniques for injury prevention and rehabilitation, taught by Nora St. John. Movement Medicine was originally developed by the Dance medicine Division of Saint Frances Memorial Hospital's Center for Sports Medicine.
